AFAM Congress

Past Conferences

AFAM National Congresses on Discipleship

In 2001 the AFAM ministry hosted the first African American Congress on Discipleship in Washington, D.C. with 29 attendees. The Congress is a dynamic, vision-building event that offers training tracks and fellowship, with the purpose of encouraging attendees to consider how they can be engaged in intentional evangelism and whole-life discipleship of African Americans throughout urban and suburban areas - in cities, the military, in colleges and churches. Subsequent conferences were held in 2005 in Durham, NC, 2008 in Harlem, NY and in 2010 the number of attendees in Norfolk, VA was 283 – a 700% increase in attendance since 2001!
